This bachelor client approached me with a dilemna... he bought a house with a pink bathroom - HELP!

My response to the pink bathroom... gotta go! Let's make this a bathroom any man OR woman would love!

The next problem: No light in the shower... it's too dark!

My response: Let there be light!

The tub deck was too large and the tub was pushed too far towards the center of the room

So we resized the tub deck, pushed the tub towards the outer wall, prewired the wall for a flat panel TV and added a storage area under the tub deck for the cable box!

Nothing exciting here... in fact, quite the opposite

We added visual texture with the interesting linear tile on the tub deck coupled with a field tile having various tone-on-tone hues and then capped off with gorgeous mosaics containing crushed glass...

The oak and laminate vanity just had to go....

The dark color provides a punch of drama in a room where neutrals are used... it's still a neutral, but it packs a whallop!

Moving the color and texture around... all while increasing functionality with the train rack, wall hooks and woven basket. Use these opportunities to move the color around!

I deliberately chose a smaller vanity so that it didn't go wall to wall - niches on each side are used for the scale and wastebasket. And one's first thought might be to use two smaller mirrors or a mirror just slightly smaller than the vanity... not me - go big or go home! This oversized croc-embossed mirror with nailhead trim spells drama!

Before: Another pink bathroom?

Yup - another pink bathroom.. with floral wallpaper! This client liked what I did in his master bath so well he had me tackle this one for just a facelift

In order to save the budget we reused the existing vanity and merely painted it... the wallpaper was removed and now this bathroom is suitable for his young son!

Another cost-saving measure - we found a slab granite remnant for a steal... and look at this granite - WOW! Because of the color play in the granite we simply kept the rest of room neutral! The granite is the superstar in this room!

The bathrooms were such a hit, the client had me do a quick update on his living room. The outdated brick fireplace, gold trim, heavy draperies and oak trim... let's make some changes here!

After: minor changes for major impact!

I did a whole house paint consult, painted out the oak trim to white - added white wooden blinds in lieu of heavy drapes, plastered concrete over the brick fireplace (no chiseling mess!) and topped with a glaze. The gold trim is painted over with special heat-resitant paint and the furniture got updated as well!

After the master bathroom was updated so nicely, this client really wanted some quick updates to bring his Master bedroom up to speed

A tailored bed and nightstand made this bachelor happy... notice we pulled some persimmon/burnt orange from the bathroom into the bedroom for continuity!

The oak bannisters definitely left this home feeling dated

We painted the bannisters white along with the trim but we wanted more impact... this black does the trick! It makes the color scheme really pop!
